Safe Skincare Products For Pregnancy

Congratulations on starting this new journey of your life, mama! If it’s your first pregnancy, you might be feeling baffled with all the do-this and do-that and use-this and avoid-that advice coming from literally everywhere! If it’s your second, or third, or fourth pregnancy, you already have your hands full, and you ain’t got no time for elaborate skincare routines! If it’s beyond your fifth pregnancy, you need more TLC than just skincare, girl (but these tips will work for you too)!

I have compiled a list of products I used every day of my pregnancy that saved my skin from dryness, rapid aging, and dark spots. These pregnancy-safe brands make products suited to all skin types, but each woman’s body is different, so talk to your doctor/ OB-GYN before you use any of these products!

Murad Essential-C Daily Moisturizer: A great option for all skin types, this moisturizer from Murad is 3-in-1 skincare gold! It combines the power of Vitamin-C, SPF, and provides just the perfect amount of hydration to start your day!

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream: This is one of my all-time favorite moisturizers, and I’ve gone through several jars of these, before, during, and after my own pregnancy! The formula is super smooth, and absorbs beautifully into dry skin. Also, I can’t get enough of the rosy fragrance which just makes me feel so lady-like and elegant!

Lancome Advanced Genifique Serum: One of Lancome’s best-selling serums - give it 3 days, and you’ll see why! This serum has been a holy grail product of mine for years, and it’s safe to use during pregnancy as well. Consistent use of this serum will give you soft, plump-looking skin!

Lancome Renergie Serum: I swear by Lancome’s Genifique Serum, but I wanted to try out their other best-seller! Another 3-in-1 product that combines x, y, and z to give you softer, brighter skin, while fighting off fine lines and wrinkles. A couple things to keep in mind when using this serum: (i) ease yourself into it - use it once a week to start off with, before you start using everyday, (ii) the consistency can confuse you - is it oil, is it cream?, and (iii) you may experience break-outs when starting with this serum, so take it slow!

Peach and Lily Cleanser: Pregnancy made my already dry-AF skin even more dry! And finding a cleanser that wouldn’t strip my face of all moisture was a must! Enter, this gel cleanser. I had used this before pregnancy as well, but swore by it during pregnancy, because it was the only cleanser that was not only effective, but also gentle enough to use daily for skin like glass!

I have used most of these products for years now, and these belong in my holy grail of skincare. I hope these work for you, too!

Love,
Sohini
